The papers included were analyzed and coded. The following data was extracted from these papers: Paper Title, Authors, Publication year, Journal, Discipline, Abstract, DOI, Author keywords, Methodology, Trust definition, Trust Operationalisation and Source of Trust Operationalisation. \n\nThis dataset was collected to get an overview of how Trust has been defined and measured when it comes to Conversational Agents. \n\nTo identify relevant papers, a search strategy based on CA-related keywords was developed. Using the keyword ‘trust’ was sufficient to capture variations of the term in the search results (e.g., ‘trustworthy’). Only papers published between 2015 and 2023 were included, sourced from databases such as Web of Science, Wiley, Elicit, IEEE, ACM, Tandfonline, Ebscohost, and the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht digital library. In total, 1,240 papers were initially retrieved. After removing duplicates, 1,094 papers remained. Next, papers that did not focus on Trust and Conversational Agents (chatbots, assistants etc.) were excluded.
