Steeds meer gemeenten willen jeugd- en jongerenparticipatie daarom inzetten voor de ontwikkeling, uitvoering en evaluatie van beleid. In de praktijk wordt dit echter nog maar beperkt ingezet, ondanks de vele tools en aanpakken die inmiddels zijn ontwikkeld. Hoe komt dit?<br><br>Dit rapport geeft inzicht in individuele en contextuele factoren die samenhangen met de inzet van jeugd- en jongerenparticipatie (4 t/m 26 jaar) in het beleid van de gemeente Rotterdam. Ons onderzoek laat zien dat niet één factor doorslaggevend is, maar dat verschillende factoren op elkaar ingrijpen. Veel beleidsadviseurs missen een visie van bovenaf, hierdoor twijfelen zij of de inzet van participatie wel echt de bedoeling is. Het ervaren van een gebrek aan rugdekking en opvattingen over kinderen en jongeren werken koudwatervrees in de hand. Ook zijn er ongeschreven regels die beleidsadviseurs extra voorzichtig maken. Om de inzet van jeugd- en jongerenparticipatie in beleid te verbeteren is een samenhangende aanpak nodig die ingrijpt op een combinatie van factoren.</p><p><br></p><p dir=\"ltr\">Background:<br>This report was written during a 2-year postdoc project of the Healthy Start Convergence (2023-2025). The aim of this postdoc project is to provide insight into the barriers and facilitators to youth participation in local policy. As part of this project, we interviewed 19 public officials at the municipality of Rotterdam. The results of these interviews are presented in this report.
