Op vondstnr. 27.3 is zelfs de wankant aanwezig.\nBeide duigen kunnen gedateerd worden in de tweede helft van de 19e eeuw; vondstnr. 27.2 in 1860 en vondstnr. 27.3 in 1862, wat betekent dat vondstnr. 27.3 bepaald in de herfst/winter van 1862/63 gekapt is.\nDe halffabriekaten van duigen werden doorgaans een jaar of twee gedroogd voordat deze verder verwerkt werden.\nDe duigen dateren met Noord-Amerikaans referentiemateriaal en hieruit kan afgeleid worden dat het om Amerikaanse witte eik (Quercus alba L.) moet gaan.
