\nIn total, 661 undergraduate students of the Dutch and International Psychology undergraduate program of Tilburg University participated in the study for course credits and were enrolled through the research participation system SONA. Eligibility for participation was based on the high and low scores of the Detachment and Negative Affect traits as assessed by the short form of the Personality Inventory for DSM-V. All eligible 434 participants were approached for participation in the laboratory study, of which 87 eventually signed up.
\nDemographics, personality traits, perceived stress, and alexithymia were assessed via Surveys through www.qualtrics.com
\nParticipants performed a stress test (Trier social stress test) in the GO-lab, while we measured ECG and EDA, and participants filled out a survey on how they felt during the stress test.
